Job summary

Arup in Sheffield is offering a Graduate Structural Engineer role. You will learn the craft by shadowing an experienced engineer on UK projects, contributing to early design, calculations and low-carbon solutions while developing toward professional qualification.

You will be supported by mentors, collaborate across disciplines and explore scripting/automation for better design and delivery. Start date 1 September 2027, with a structured graduate programme.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Structural, General or Architectural Engineering, or Engineering Science, at 2.1 or above.
• Studying, or have studied, an ICE or IStructE accredited course.
• A passion for structural engineering.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out structural calculations, modelling, engineering, computer, and hand analysis.
• Finding structural engineering solutions that are economical, practical and low carbon, and building models to monitor structural behaviour.
• Communication through drawings, sketches, digital modelling, calculations, BIM, meetings, presentations and reports.
• Cooperating with teams, taking and giving instructions, solving problems together with respect.
• Learning the practice of structural engineering, codes, software, materials and construction techniques.
• Planning deadlines and working with the team to deliver projects on time.
