Job summary

HDR is recruiting a Graduate Structural Engineer to assist senior engineers in the design process and gain a detailed working knowledge of industry practices. You will help with detailed design, calculations, and drawings while supporting site works and QA activities.

The role offers exposure to design across disciplines and opportunities to advance toward Chartered status within a 100-percent employee-owned environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or a relevant subject.
• Good IT knowledge with Microsoft packages.
• Personable with a can-do attitude and resource management experience.
• Clear, concise, professional communication with clients and suppliers.
• Some knowledge of design analysis software is desirable.
• Able to work as part of a team and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Assist in detailed design tasks and drawing production under guidance.
• Develop understanding of building materials and design techniques.
• Carry out detailed design calculations and learn design packages.
• Maintain CPD diaries and progress toward Chartered status.
• Attend site visits and meetings relevant to the project.
• Support QA and maintain project documentation.
