Job summary

JP Engineering in Taunton is seeking a Graduate Structural Engineer to kick-start their career within a collaborative multidisciplinary consultancy. You will work closely with experienced engineers across projects lifecycle, gaining hands-on design and analysis experience while building a broad understanding of structural engineering.

You will develop proficiency in design software, learn relevant British Standards, and progress toward greater project responsibility in a supportive environment

Qualifications

• Recent graduate with a Civil/Structural Engineering degree.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn new software and technical skills.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Proactive, team-oriented mindset.
• Ideally some knowledge of structural design principles.

Responsibilities

• Assist with structural designs and engineering calculations.
• Produce structural drawings and technical details.
• Support engineers with design development and project delivery.
• Work with steel, concrete, timber and masonry structures.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical information.
• Assist with site visits and inspections.
• Liaise with other members of the design team.
• Learn to use industry-standard design and analysis software.

Are you a recent Civil or Structural Engineering graduate looking to kick-start your career with a consultancy that will invest in your development?

We\'re working with an established and growing multidisciplinary consultancy in Taunton that is looking to welcome a Graduate Structural Engineer to its team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate who wants to build strong technical foundations, gain hands-on project experience and work alongside experienced engineers across a variety of exciting projects.

The opportunity

You\'ll join a friendly and collaborative team where you\'ll be supported from day one. You\'ll work closely with experienced Structural Engineers and other disciplines, gaining exposure to projects throughout their lifecycle.

Rather than being limited to one area of work, you\'ll have the opportunity to develop a broad understanding of structural engineering and see how different disciplines work together to deliver successful projects.

Your role will include:

• Assisting with structural designs and engineering calculations


• Producing structural drawings and technical details


• Supporting engineers with design development and project delivery


• Working with steel, concrete, timber and masonry structures


• Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical information


• Assisting with site visits and inspections

About you
