The Role

A respected structural engineering consultancy is seeking a Graduate Structural Engineer to join its team. The consultancy works on small to medium-sized projects across domestic, commercial, industrial, and residential sectors. Projects involve designing buildings using traditional materials—concrete, steel, masonry, and timber—as well as occasional traditional construction such as dry-stone walls and oak framing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design of structural projects using traditional and modern techniques.
  • Support the preparation of design documents and technical drawings.
  • Work under guidance to develop practical and sustainable engineering solutions.
  • Contribute to project meetings and collaborate with experienced engineers.
  • Engage with a variety of projects to gain all-round engineering experience.

Requirements

  • A graduate degree (BEng or MEng) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, or in progress.
  • Keen interest in buildings and structural design.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and structural design software (further training provided).
  • Desire to progress, develop, and achieve professional growth.
  • Previous experience is advantageous but not essential.
