Job description

About Pell Frischmann

Pell Frischmann is a specialist advisory and technical consultancy operating across the built and natural environment, helping to shape a better future for the communities in which we work. We offer consultancy services, with access to specialist sister companies and partners, to support both public and private‑sector clients. We work across sectors encompassing buildings, infrastructure, and regeneration. Originally formed in 1926, we have a unique heritage in delivering client‑focused solutions that deliver value through our commercial awareness, sustainable aspirations, and innovative approach. Our distinctive future is defined by our ownership; Pell Frischmann is part of RSBG SE, the patient capital investment arm of RAG‑Stiftung, a foundation with the long‑term public purpose of addressing environmental and social commitments arising from the closure of Germany’s coal mining industry.

About The Role

You will join our well‑established Building Structures team based in our Cambridge office. You will also be part of a collaborative team, working on many key projects in the Building Structures sector. One of our recent successes was the redevelopment of the Centre Point Building – explore the link to learn more and discover other exciting projects you could be working on!

On joining Pell Frischmann you will become part of an expert, multidisciplinary team where you will gain training and experience in your chosen specialism. Additionally, you will be enrolled onto our 2‑year Graduate Programme. This exciting programme is built around the competence requirements of professional institutions and a great way to kick‑start your career. You will have the opportunity to network with other graduates across the Group and develop key skills such as project management, business and personal effectiveness.

Right To Work Requirements

We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role due to salary thresholds. Applicants must already have the existing, unrestricted right to work in the UK for the full duration of our 2‑ to 3‑year graduate programme. Unfortunately, this means we cannot accept applications where the right to work is time‑limited and would expire before the programme ends (July 2029).

Main duties
  • Prepare your own discipline designs, design calculations, drawings and project documents as identified under the guidance of the relevant Project Manager.
  • Prepare / assist with the preparation of design statements, tender documents and any other reports identified in the Project Quality Plan on assigned projects.
  • Carry out other duties as identified in the Project Quality Plan on assigned projects.
  • Utilise computer‑aided design systems, computer design software and other design aids, as required.
  • Site visits to determine existing building geometry, condition of accessible structure, and inspect anything else that might be relevant when carrying out design for any plausible alterations.
Why Pell Frischmann?

We are one of the UK's most influential and highly respected firms of infrastructure and built environmental professionals. We provide a collaborative and supportive working environment, where you’ll have the freedom and flexibility to create your own pathway and make a real impact within the business and in the communities in which you will operate. We support your ongoing personal and professional development as your career progresses, allowing you to reach your full potential.
