Job Description:

We are seeking a Graduate Specification Consultant to support our Architecture teams. With support and training, your role will be to assist colleagues with the production of robust Architectural Specification documentation for both internal (AECOM) and external Clients, accurately reflecting the project and contractual requirements using the AECOM specification database and NBS Chorus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of Architectural Specifications that reflect detailed project requirements.
  • Following training and under supervision, advise Clients on Design Responsibility issues and how the form of Contract and procurement route affect the Specification format/deliverables.
  • Develop and stay updated with technical standards, products, and innovations related to our consultancy business.
  • Attend internal and external meetings to obtain project briefing information and provide consultancy services to prepare project-specific documentation.
  • Familiarize with the Client's brief and scope to ensure deliverables align with the project scope.
  • Maintain awareness of project finances and escalate potential financial issues to the Line Manager/Team Lead.
  • Carry out projects in accordance with AECOM QA/QC and Health and Safety standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on multiple projects under the direction of the Team Leader.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or Engineering.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in the responsibilities of the role.
  • Understanding of building construction techniques.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; NBS Chorus experience is desirable.
  • Ability to work within scope and budget constraints.
  • Flexible and adaptable to new methods and processes.
  • Knowledge of UK Construction procurement methodologies and their relation to Specification Documentation.
  • Ambitious, enthusiastic, and proactive.
  • Good understanding of BIM.
  • Effective communicator at all levels.
  • Punctual, reliable, and professional.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks effectively.
