Surrey – Education – Learning Difficulties - Special Needs Teaching Assistant – SEN - £80-85 per day

Do you have a passion for supporting children with Learning Difficulties, including Autism, and Speech, Language & Communication needs?

This specialist built school near Haslemere is looking for a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to support children aged 4-17 with mild to severe learning difficulties.

The role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience, work closely with professionals, and expand your skillset. It provides essential experience within a challenging yet rewarding setting. Career progression routes include becoming a Special Needs Teacher, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or pursuing Child Psychology and Educational Psychology pathways.

Many children with special educational needs face barriers such as marginalisation, trauma, low attainment, and stigma. As a SEN TA, you will play a crucial role in providing consistency, safety, and empowerment to help children succeed.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the class teacher in delivering the curriculum
• Provide behaviour and pastoral support
• Build effective relationships with students
• Meet individual needs with a practical approach
• Maintain excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Work 1:1 and in small groups
• Ensure safeguarding of students
• Attend staff meetings and CPD sessions

Additional Information:

Start date: September 2024

Training, support, and CPD are provided to ensure safeguarding.

Work schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm, PAYE, term time only

Salary: £80-£85 per day
