Qualifications

• Must have strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and legal software.
• Excellent communication, written and oral, with clients and colleagues.
• Good organisational and time management abilities to meet deadlines.
• Able to work well in a team and follow training guidance.

Responsibilities

• Provide general and confidential support to the department and assist with general legal enquiries.
• Deal with first line enquiries in person, by phone and by email, taking instructions and advising clients in relation to costs.
• Help with the organisation and co-ordination of formal court documentation and bundles for court hearings.
• Draft simple legal documents using standard templates and with legal guidance.
• Assist with the maintenance and accuracy of the Legal case management system and file keeping.
• Complete accurate time recording, both chargeable and non-chargeable.
• Assist with client interviews.
• Gain understanding of client expectations and requirements.
• Conduct legal research and assess legal problems.
• Meet deadlines.
• Gain competency in the SRA skills standards.
• Keep up to date with training and law and practice.
