Remuneration (UK – Remote): £40–56k + Discretionary Bonus + Equity

We are a stealth-mode AI laboratory researching and developing Machine Learning models.

The founding team consists of Cambridge graduates and former engineers at Microsoft, Bloomberg, and Goldman Sachs. We are backed by prominent investors from the US and the UK, including institutional VC funds and C-level executives of global technology companies.

The role involves developing backend infrastructure for Machine Learning workloads. You will work closely with the Machine Learning team; however, you are not required to have a background in Machine Learning. This is an applied role, seeking a software engineer with experience in cloud computing and distributed systems.

In this role, you will:

• Develop highly scalable, fault-tolerant, and event-driven systems.
• Take ownership of tasks with a high degree of autonomy.
• Collaborate closely with the founding team to contribute to best practices, standards, and company culture.
• Use AWS extensively, managed with Terraform.
• Work with services written in C# (.NET 9), deployed to ECS or Lambda via GitHub Actions.
• Utilize Postgres, SNS/SQS, and Redis.
• Maintain good end-to-end test coverage and confident deployment processes.

What we are looking for:

• Back-end development experience with reliable, object-oriented systems.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), containerisation (Docker), and observability tools (Datadog, Grafana).
• Curiosity and eagerness to learn.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
