Graduate Software Engineer

Job Description

This is a great opportunity to join our team as a Graduate Systems Engineer. This role will be based in our Leeds head office (with some travel) and will involve assisting the existing Systems Engineering team with their day-to-day duties.

Key Duties

• Producing electrical AutoCAD drawings
• Creating electrical documentation (cable schedules, parts lists, etc.)
• Maintaining accurate electrical drawings
• Researching and implementing technical solutions
• Participating in research & development projects
• Assisting with in-house fixed wiring inspections and electrical documentation
• Developing PLC software
• Developing HMI software
• Developing SCADA systems

Experience and Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, or equivalent
• Experience with 2D CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical
• Experience with 3D CAD software (advantageous)
• Knowledge of PLC and software engineering (advantageous)
• Understanding of control system design and optimization
• Knowledge of British and European design standards
• Experience in HMI/SCADA programming (advantageous)
• Ability to read P&ID drawings (advantageous)
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Excellent written and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to travel (essential)
• A clean driving license (advantageous)
• Knowledge of industrial communication applications (Ethernet, CC-Link, etc.) (advantageous)

Conditions:

37.5 hours/week with flexible working, core hours 09:00-15:00 (Mon-Thu) and 09:00-14:00 (Fri).

Starting salary: £25,000 per annum, with incremental increases based on development.
