Job description

Presto Music is an industry-leading online global retailer selling recorded music (physical, digital and our own streaming service), sheet music, instruments and books.

We are seeking a Graduate Developer to join our in-house team to work on our current website, app, APIs, and back-office systems.

We are looking for a recent graduate in any subject with a passion for programming and demonstrated ability to adapt and learn. You would be working on a wide variety of projects supported by our existing team, with an opportunity to learn where needed.

Although we don't require any specific experience, you will need to demonstrate the ability to pick up new languages quickly, with support where needed, and be prepared to contribute to our largely PHP codebase.

Some of the systems and technologies you may encounter are:

• Customer-facing website, API and back-end processes using PHP 8.2, twig and sass.
• A React/Capacitor/Electron Streaming app built for Windows, Mac, Android, iOS and Web
• nodejs streaming back-end
• FLAC and MPEG4-SLS streaming codecs
• elasticsearch/opensearch
• MySQL/MariaDB supporting a product database of over a million products
• Microsoft Access
  
  

The existing development team of 5 people runs under an Agile methodology with 2-week sprints, culminating in a retrospective to capture learnings helping us to improve and change.

The Graduate Developer role is a one-year fixed-term position, with the potential to transition to a Software Developer role after one year.

Place of work: Leamington Spa UK (Flexible working considered, but with an expectation of being based in our offices in Leamington Spa)

Interviews June/July 2025. Expected start date August/September 2025, although an earlier or later start can be discussed.
