Job summary

Content Guru is seeking a Graduate Software Developer in Bracknell to join the application engineering team. You will contribute to design, development, testing and maintenance of back-end and front-end services, with emphasis on C#, .NET, SQL and modern web stacks.

Join an Agile team and learn from experienced engineers while delivering mission-critical cloud communications solutions used by global clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM, Computer Science or related subject.
• Good experience developing commercial projects in C# and .NET stack.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g., SQL Server).
• Experience using Git and source control in Agile environments (Scrum).
• Knowledge of OWASP ASVS or equivalent security standards.
• Familiarity with React.js and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience containerising applications with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Write code in languages, principally C#.
• Design architecture of new components and obtain sign-off for development specifications.
• Work in an Agile team to develop back-end apps and features to meet requirements.
• Test new features to ensure correct performance in all cases.
• Collaborate with QA to validate builds for launch.
• Maintain and upgrade the platform following internal change procedures.
• Peer review colleagues' work and contribute ideas for improvements.
• Stay up to date with technologies and test new frameworks as relevant.

Key Responsibilities within this role...

Development

• Write code in appropriate languages, principally C#.
• Design the architecture of new application components and achieve internal sign off for development specifications where required.
• Work within an Agile team to develop back-end applications and features to meet customer/project requirements.
• Thoroughly test new features or developments to make sure they perform the desired task correctly in all cases.
• Work with Quality Assurance teams/processes to validate builds ready for launch.

• Problem solve and fix bugs as discovered/reported.
• Perform ongoing maintenance or upgrade of the platform as required, following internal change procedures at all times.
• Peer review colleague's work.
• Share ideas and work on projects for improving applications, process or the wider platform.
• Review projects/deployments and learn lessons to improve future performance.
• Design and pilot prototype applications where required
• Stay up to date with software development trends and technological advancements. Learn and test new technologies, frameworks and languages as relevant.

About you...

• Bachelors Degree in a STEM, Computer Science or related subject.
• Good experience of developing commercial projects/applications in C#.
• Good experience in SQL and using relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience in source control, in particular Git
• Experience working within an Agile environment, in particular Scrum, and applying supporting practices.
• Knowledge and experience working to OWASP ASVS or equivalent application security standards.
• Experience of .NET 5 or 6.
• Experience of Javascript, Typescript and associated frameworks and libraries, in particular React.js.
• Experience in developing containerising applications with Docker and using orchestration such as Kubernetes.
