Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Graduate SHEQ Advisor to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop your career in Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) management by contributing to critical infrastructure projects in the energy and water sectors. Working alongside experienced SHEQ professionals, you will gain hands-on experience ensuring compliance, promoting a safety-first culture, and driving continuous improvement in all SHEQ practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • SHEQ Compliance and Monitoring: Assist in ensuring all operations comply with SHEQ regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Conduct site inspections and audits to identify potential risks and ensure safety protocols are followed. Support in preparing and maintaining documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and incident reports.
  • Health and Safety: Promote a positive health and safety culture across all projects. Support investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses, and contribute to developing corrective actions. Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and safety briefings to teams on-site.
  • Environmental Management: Assist in monitoring and mitigating environmental impacts of projects. Support sustainability initiatives and ensure compliance with environmental legislation.
  • Quality Assurance: Help ensure that all project deliverables meet quality standards and client requirements. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by analysing SHEQ performance data and trends
  • Training and Development: Work closely with the SHEQ team to develop and deliver training programs for employees and contractors. Stay updated on industry best practices, legislative changes, and emerging SHEQ technologies.

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of SHEQ principles and their application in construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of ISO standards (e.g., ISO 45001, 14001, 9001).
  • Familiarity with renewable energy or water sector operations.
  • Awareness of construction safety regulations and best practices.
  • Relevant internships, placements, or project experience in a similar field.
