Job description

Graduate SEND Teaching Assistant- Warwick School

Warwick School is seeking to appoint a Graduate SEND Teaching Assistant from September 2025 for an initial period of 12 months with the possibility of extending for a further year. The post is likely to suit someone who may be considering teaching as a career. The role will involve teaching some lessons, likely small group support lessons at first, taking on more responsibility as the placement continues.

This role may suit someone who would like to live on site and be fully involved in the life of the school. It is envisaged that someone living on site will be fully involved in Boarding and the extra-curricular life of the school. Free food and accommodation will be part of this package. For those who already know they would like to become a teacher, full training could be made available which leads to QTS. In future the cost of QTS for a suitable candidate could be available.

For people who do not want to live on site but are able to offer someteaching, then either full or part-time will be considered.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
To support the development of a pupil with specific needs as well as contributing to the Academic Support and SEN Department.

  • Assisting with the teaching and support of pupils on the SEND/ Academic Support register
  • Teaching small group lessons as directed. The ability to teach GCSE level Maths is required. In addition, the ability to support science subjects to GCSE level would be desirable.
  • Maintaining pupil records and carrying out administrative tasks, particularly for those pupils who have an EHCP or have other pastoral needs.

For people who do not want to live on site but are able to offer some teaching then either full or part-time will be considered. The FTE for an unqualified teacher is £21,951


Alternatively, a salary of £18,071 is offered for a candidate who intends to live in school accommodation.


In future the cost of QTS for a suitable candidate could be available.
