Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant Temp to Perm Immediate Start East London

We are seeking a fantastic new Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant for one of our leading primary schools in East London. This role requires supporting pupils in a group setting, including those with special educational needs (e.g., ASD, ADHD, PMLD). The school has a strong support team committed to excellence in education and making a positive impact on young pupils' futures.

Role: Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Newham, East London

Contract: Full time (08:30 - 3:30)

Start: ASAP

Rate: £95-105 per day

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing resources, schemes of work, and teaching strategies tailored to students' needs
  • Provide regular feedback to teachers on students' progress and needs
  • Lead small group sessions and interventions as appropriate
  • Support behaviour management strategies
  • Implement structured learning activities and adapt them to meet learning goals

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Basic understanding of SEND and learning barriers
  • Knowledge of strategies for working with young people with challenging behaviours
  • Safeguarding experience
  • Experience supporting students directly in educational or training environments

Preferred Backgrounds:

  • Students from psychology, sociology, or sports backgrounds
  • Health and Social Care NVQ
  • CACHE Level 3 qualifications
