Your Role as a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant
In this role, you will:
Provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support to students with a range of SEN, such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and social, emotional or mental health needs
Collaborate with class teachers to adapt lesson materials and ensure inclusive access to the curriculum
Support students in developing key life skills including self-confidence, independence, and communication
Contribute to a positive learning environment by implementing effective behaviour and emotional support strategies
Monitor and report student progress to the SENCo and wider teaching team, supporting the development of personalised learning plans
Who We’re Looking For
We’re keen to hear from graduates who:
Have recently completed a degree (ideally 2:1 or above) in Psychology, Education, or a related discipline
Have some experience working with young people with SEN, either in a school, care, or voluntary setting
Are calm, patient, resilient, and committed to inclusive education
Have a genuine interest in progressing into teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, or similar child-centred professions
