Job summary

Veritas Education is seeking a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in classrooms and small groups across secondary schools in Leeds and surrounding areas. This part-time role focuses on promoting inclusive learning, managing behaviour, and assisting with curriculum delivery.

You will work closely with teachers, monitor student progress, and report safeguarding concerns. The ideal candidate has strong behaviour management, good communication, and a proactive, adaptable approach;

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a school setting or with children is desirable but not essential.
• Strong ability to manage behaviour and engage learners.
• Excellent communication to build relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Proactive, positive and adaptable approach to learning.

Responsibilities

• Implement effective strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour.
• Work closely with teachers and assist with delivering lessons.
• Assist with academic work to keep pupils engaged and supported.
• Record and report on pupil progress, behaviours, interventions and safeguarding concerns.
