About the School

This Manchester-based specialist provision is part of a wider multi-academy trust dedicated to supporting young people with a wide range of needs. The school’s vision is rooted in compassion, resilience, and the belief that every child deserves to be understood and supported, no matter their background or behaviour. They are now seeking a Graduate SEN Behaviour Mentor to enhance this environment. With a highly trained and supportive team of staff, the school puts wellbeing, relational practice, and restorative approaches at the heart of its culture, making it a nurturing but structured environment for both staff and students.

About the Role

As a Graduate SEN Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils across KS3 and KS4 who present with complex SEMH needs and behavioural challenges. You will build positive relationships, de-escalate conflict, and support students through both emotional regulation and academic progress. A big part of your role will be modelling positive behaviour and promoting engagement in learning.

This Graduate SEN Behaviour Mentor role will also see you assisting in delivering interventions, supporting within lessons, and helping students develop social, emotional, and communication skills. You will work as part of a strong pastoral and SEND team, receiving excellent guidance and support from experienced educators and behaviour leads.

About You

We are looking for a Graduate SEN Behaviour Mentor who is emotionally intelligent, calm under pressure, and passionate about inclusive education. A background in psychology, sports coaching, youth work, or mentoring would be highly beneficial, as would experience working with young people who face barriers to learning. This is not a role for the faint-hearted – it requires patience, grit, and genuine compassion.

Experience is welcomed, but the right attitude is essential.
