Are you a recent graduate considering a career in education? Do you want to gain valuable classroom experience before pursuing teacher training?

Empowering Learning is currently working in partnership with a highly-regarded secondary school in the Lambeth area to recruit a committed and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.



About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate to work closely with teaching staff across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will play a key role in supporting pupils academically and pastorally, both in the classroom and through targeted intervention work. The role is ideal for individuals who are considering a future in teaching or education-related fields.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting classroom teachers in delivering engaging lessons.

  • Working with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning.

  • Assisting in the planning and preparation of learning resources.

  • Helping to manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.

  • Supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN), where appropriate.

  • Contributing to extracurricular activities and school life.



The Ideal Candidate:

  • A recent graduate (any discipline considered; education, psychology, English, maths or science preferred).

  • A genuine passion for education and working with young people.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Reliable, adaptable, and eager to learn.

  • Previous experience in a school setting or working with young people (desirable but not essential).
