Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, Term Time Only
Contract Duration: 1 academic year (with potential for Teacher Training opportunities)
Salary: Competitive – dependent on experience
About the Role:
As a Graduate Science Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the Science department to support pupils across KS3 and KS4 (ages 11-16).
Your role will include:
· Providing one-to-one or small group support in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics lessons
· Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and delivery
· Helping to manage classroom behaviour and engagement
· Supporting pupils with varying levels of ability, including those with SEN
· Gaining first-hand experience of life in a dynamic school setting
About You:
· A degree in a Science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics or a related field)
· A genuine interest in education and supporting young people
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· A positive, proactive and flexible approach to learning
· Previous experience working with young people ( tutoring, mentoring or volunteering) is desirable but not essential
