A leading global engineering business in the marine sector is seeking a Graduate Engineer to support their aftermarket sales department. The role involves creating customer profiles, monitoring new business opportunities, and collaborating with various teams. Candidates should have a degree in mechanical engineering, strong communication skills, and an interest in Sales Engineering. Access to transport required as per site location.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in a mechanical engineering discipline.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Interest in pursuing a career in Sales Engineering/Aftermarket support.
  • Knowledge/experience of aftermarket service or sales engineering is advantageous.
  • Must have access to own transport and right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Create individual customer profiles detailing business models and trading history.
  • Prepare materials for customer meetings and service history analysis.
  • Monitor the installed base for new customer leads.
  • Classify customers and target new business opportunities.
  • Drive sales of services and service products.
  • Coordinate with operations and business development teams.
  • Refine processes with the Service Agreements Manager.

Overview

Our client, a leading global engineering business to the marine sector are looking to recruit a Graduate Engineer to join the business on a permanent basis to support the aftermarket sales department.

The successful candidate will be required to support the aftermarket team by building customer profiles to help better service each client and understand their needs further. Moving forwards, support with social media/ marketing and business development may also be incorporated into the role.

Hours

Mon - Thurs 0830 - 1700 / Friday 08:30 - 1630

Key Responsibilities
  • Creating individual customer profiles including specific details of customers business models, vision & values, installed base and trading history analysis.
  • Preparation of material required for customer meetings; service history & installed base analysis.
  • Monitoring the installed base for potential new customers, vessels & installations.
  • Customer classifications and targeting new installed base for service & new business.
  • Drive sales of services and service products as well as end user decisions to specify products for their newbuilding projects to capture full market potential.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Operations, Business Development, Market Communication and Technical Advisor as required.
  • Communicate with the Service Agreements Manager to refine processes and provide service excellence to improve customer experience in contract management.
Education/Qualifications
  • Degree qualified in a mechanical engineering discipline
  • Strong communications skills
  • Interest in pursing a career in Sales Engineering/ Aftermarket support
  • Knowledge/ experience of aftermarket service or sales engineering would be highly advantageous.
  • Candidates must have access to their own transport due to the location of site and have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship
