Job Description:

Graduate Opportunities in Cardiff Schools September. Are you a recently graduated student who wants to gain experience working as a TA with children within special needs? Axcis Education wants to hear from you! Do you have a background in music, sports, creative arts, psychology, foreign languages, English, maths, science, and/or childcare? If you have a different background but are looking to work in schools, contact Axcis today! We are recruiting for teaching assistants in mainstream and special needs schools around Newport and the surrounding areas.

Ideally, you will have experience working with learning disabilities such as autism, Asperger's, Down syndrome, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties. If not, we are looking for candidates with backgrounds in Art, Dance, Physical Education, and similar fields. The hours are 8:30-3:30 pm, and flexibility to work in various settings with children with different needs is required. Some children may be non-verbal, and knowledge of Makaton or PECS would be advantageous.

If you are caring, friendly, patient, and seeking experience in the special needs sector, this role could be ideal. A positive attitude and resilience are important. The role is on a supply basis, with the opportunity to work up to five days a week. Axcis Education offers excellent training opportunities, including CPD sessions on Autism Awareness, Team Teach, Behaviour Management, and Non-verbal Communication.

You will need a fully enhanced DBS on the DBS Update Service and registration with the EWC. Please contact Axcis Education at 02921 602960 or email your CV to apply. Kathryn Green is the contact person at 02921 602960, Ext: 2005. We also offer £150 shopping vouchers for referrals that lead to successful placements.

This is a temporary position unless stated otherwise. Axcis is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to safeguarding children and young people. All staff must provide an up-to-date DBS or allow Axcis to process one on their behalf, along with other mandatory checks per DfE guidelines.

Axcis Education offers temporary, short-term, long-term, and permanent positions. Candidates must be suitably qualified and willing to attend a face-to-face interview. Salary depends on skills and experience.
