We have a great opportunity to join our Retail Finance team as a Retail Finance Analyst. The team is part of the larger Commercial Finance department, which includes Trading Finance, Healthcare Finance, Online & Distribution, Procurement, and Property & Investments Finance.

The Retail Finance team provides financial analysis and support to a wide range of stakeholders, including the Retail Operations Director and Store Operations team. They own the store operating costs from a financial perspective and act as valued business partners, ensuring store profitability analysis supports decision-making. We care about individual career development and support growth through schemes towards CIMA, ACA, or ACCA qualifications.

Job Purpose

The role involves providing financial information and analytical support to the Retail Operations team to help achieve company targets and profitability. You will act as the Finance Business Partner for Retail Operations, assisting with queries, forecasting, and budgeting. Initially, the first 3-4 months will involve providing temporary financial support to the Beauty Services team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage month-end processes related to regional and retail store operations, including posting costs, ensuring controls, and completing reconciliations.
  • Serve as Finance Business Partner to Retail Operations teams, responding to queries, attending meetings, and acting as a point of contact.
  • Own all Retail Finance Regular Reporting and Packs, supporting KPI bonus model delivery.
  • Collaborate with the Reporting Project Analyst to develop and launch automated Power BI reports for Retail and Beauty Services.
  • Assist with quarterly forecasts and annual budgets for Retail Finance costs.
  • Support investment decisions through analysis, business case preparation, and presentations to the investment committee.
  • Substitute for the Retail Finance Manager when needed.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and reporting support for the Beauty Services business.

Candidate Preferences

  • Part-qualified in CIMA/ACCA/ACA or relevant university degree with a minimum 2:1 grade.
  • Interest in Finance and Retail demonstrated.
  • Experience with Excel.
  • Diligent, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated, confident, enthusiastic, and passionate about the brand.
  • Ability to build strong relationships across the business, including with non-finance colleagues and third-party providers.
