The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Humberside is seeking a talented individual for a year-long placement focused on violence prevention. The role will provide valuable experience while working within a busy team, engaging in significant public health initiatives and contributing to meaningful projects aimed at reducing violence.

You will be joining a busy team, working primarily with staff from our Humber Violence Prevention Partnership (VPP). You will have opportunities to attend and take part in internal and external meetings and events, helping you to build your experience and professional network.
You will have the opportunity to work with analysts and practitioners from across the criminal justice sector and will be encouraged to grow your relationships and knowledge and supported to continue your professional development.
You should be able to demonstrate excellent research capability and understand how best to engage people from a range of backgrounds using your ability to communicate complex issues in a simple and easy to understand manner.
You will be encouraged to experiment, learn additional skills and, as far as possible, select the most appropriate methodology for the task.
Whilst it would be great to have someone who knows who we are, what we do and who we work with, it isn’t our greatest requirement. We want the right person. We can easily give you the context of our working environment. We need the right skillset and values. That is our priority.
You will be required to work at the OPCC office in Cottingham, in addition to some flexible/agile working where possible, once established in post.
