Graduate Reading Teaching Assistant

Location: Hounslow, Greater London, TW5 0Q

School Type: Secondary Mainstream School

Contract: Full Time, Monday – Friday

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Reading Support Assistant to join our team at a thriving secondary mainstream school in Hounslow. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about education and eager to support students aged 11-16 in developing their reading skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide classroom support, working with students individually, in small groups, or supporting the entire class.
  • Assist students with literacy difficulties, including those with dyslexia.
  • Implement structured, engaging teaching activities to motivate and enhance students' learning.
  • Ensure all pupils have equal access to learning opportunities and promote the inclusion of students with specific needs.
  • Employ effective behaviour management strategies to foster a productive learning environment.
  • Encourage cooperative interaction among pupils and support their overall development.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • A graduate with high levels of literacy and reading proficiency.
