Job summary

Glanua seeks a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to support financial and contractual management of wastewater treatment projects in Sheffield. You will assist a Senior QS to ensure delivery within time and budget, covering tender through final account and protecting the company’s commercial interests.

You will handle take-offs, monitor costs, support monthly performance reporting, manage subcontracting, and help prepare interim valuations and payments on site to support project cash flow.

Qualifications

• Honours degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• Strong numerical and analytical capability is essential.
• Clear written and verbal communication with clients and teams.
• Proficient in Excel and Word for cost control and reporting.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Full driving license is required.

Responsibilities

• Take-offs for materials and equipment, source quotations and order materials.
• Manage and monitor project cost and value.
• Assist with Monthly Performance Reports (MPRs).
• Subcontractor procurement from prequalification to contract.
• Prepare subcontract documents, enquiries and evaluation of quotations.
• Place subcontract orders, and certify payments and final accounts.
• Support change control, risk and value management.
• Track project changes, variations and compensation events.
• Prepare interim valuations and payment applications to clients and agree final accounts.
• Attend risk reviews and commercial meetings on-site with the client.
• Review contract documents and advise on issues.
