Job summary

McLaughlin & Harvey is offering a Graduate Quantity Surveyor - Civils development programme in Barrow-in-Furness. You will work on major construction and infrastructure projects, supported by mentoring and a clear progression pathway.

The 18-month programme includes the potential to complete an Institute of Leadership and Management qualification, with a competitive salary and benefits package. Eligible graduates with strong numeracy and teamwork skills are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Final year bachelor’s degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
• Eligibility to work in the UK or Ireland.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, negotiate and analyse costs for tenders and contracts.
• Ensure sub-contractors are pre-qualified in accordance with management systems.
• Procure Sub-Contractors and prepare Sub-Contractor order documentation.
• Assess and certify Sub-Contractor interim payments and issue appropriate Payment / Pay-less notices.
• Assist on a range of legal and contractual issues.
• Prepare Interim Valuations and Final Accounts.
• Manage and value Variations.
• Produce monthly Cost Value Reconciliation on contracts.
