Job summary

Laing O'Rourke has launched its Graduate Development Programme for ambitious graduates to gain practical experience, achieve professional accreditation and develop skills for a long-term commercial career in construction and engineering.

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor on the Early Talent programme, you will learn to manage project costs, contracts and risk within project delivery teams, supported by mentoring and progression toward APC MRICS.

Qualifications

• Degree subjects suitable include Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management.
• Also suitable: Construction Economics, Project Management, Civil Engineering.
• Additional disciplines such as Finance, Economics or Business Management may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist with cost reporting and forecasting
• Support subcontract procurement activities
• Measure and value completed works
• Assist with change management and variations
• Support payment applications and assessments
• Maintain commercial records and reporting systems
• Undertake cost analysis
• Support risk and opportunity reviews
• Assist in preparation of final accounts
• Contribute to project commercial governance and controls.
