Job summary

Nicholas Associates Group Limited is seeking a Graduate Quantity Surveyor for its Weston-Super-Mare operations. You will join the Quantity Surveying Team to manage the commercial elements across the project lifecycle, helping minimise costs and maximise value in line with contract and client expectations.

Ideal candidates are recent graduates with a Quantity Surveying degree, capable IT users (Word, Excel, Outlook), strong analytical skills, and a willingness to travel across the UK with a valid

Qualifications

• Recently graduated with a Quantity Surveying degree.
• Willing to travel to sites throughout the UK.
• Valid UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage all commercial elements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Minimise costs and enhance value for money.
• Ensure contract and client expectations meet required standards.
• Identify and address contractual and commercial risks and opportunities.
• Cost planning and contract engagement.
• Attend progress meetings to respond to commercial matters raised.
• Liaise with site team, supply chain and Clients' representatives.
• Support the project manager in fulfilling all contractual obligations.

THE COMPANY:

The company is a Groundworks and Civil Engineering company operating as a sub-contractor for most of the major and regional housebuilders, as well as other market sectors.

THE ROLE:

• Working within the Quantity Surveying Team to manage all commercial elements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Minimise costs and enhance value for money
• Achieve the required standards and quality in accordance with contract and client expectations.
• Ensuring contractual and commercial risks and opportunities are identified and addressed.
• Cost planning and contract engagement
• Sourcing specified materials based on cost & quality.
• Attend progress meetings to respond to commercial matters raised.
• Ongoing liaison with site team, supply chain and Clients' representatives
• Support and advise the project manager in respect of fulfilment of all contractual obligations.

YOU:

• Recently graduated with a Quantity Surveying degree.
• Competent IT skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Demonstrable financial and commercial acumen.
• Practical approach, logical thought process and a methodical way of working.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work under pressure as part of a team and individually
• Willing to travel to sites throughout the UK.
• Valid UK Driving Licence
