Job summary

Bimplus is seeking a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join their Warrington commercial team. This role offers hands-on exposure to the full commercial lifecycle of residential construction projects, with support from seasoned professionals.

Ideal candidates will hold a relevant degree and show a strong interest in Quantity Surveying, with good numerical, IT and communication skills. The position is based in Warrington and focuses on build-to-rent and high-density residential schemes.

Qualifications

• A degree in Quantity Surveying or related construction discipline.
• Some experience through placement, internship or graduate scheme is preferred.
• A genuine interest to pursue a career in Quantity Surveying.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Proficiency with IT and MS Office.
• A full UK driving licence is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support Quantity Surveyors with commercial management of projects.
• Assist with preparation and review of subcontractor packages.

Graduate Quantity Surveyor – Residential Construction

The Role

Our client is looking to appoint a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Warrington.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recently graduated Quantity Surveyor or someone at the early stages of their commercial career to gain hands-on experience across major residential construction projects.

Working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and the wider commercial team, you will receive support and development while gaining exposure to the full commercial lifecycle of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting Quantity Surveyors with the commercial management of construction projects


• Assisting with the preparation and review of subcontractor packages


• Supporting the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers


• Assisting with tender analysis and comparison of quotations


• Preparing and maintaining cost reports


• Assisting with valuations and applications for payment


• Monitoring project costs against budgets


• Supporting the management of variations and compensation events


• Assisting with subcontractor accounts and payments


• Supporting the preparation of final accounts


• Reviewing drawings, specifications and contract documentation
  
• Assisting with cost forecasting and reporting


• Maintaining accurate commercial records


• Working closely with site teams, planners, procurement and project management


• Attending project and commercial meetings where required


• Developing an understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures


• Supporting senior members of the commercial team across multiple projects

The Ideal Candidate

• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline


• Ideally some previous construction industry experience through a placement, internship or graduate scheme


• A genuine interest in developing a career within Quantity Surveying


• Strong numerical and analytical skills


• Excellent communication and organisational skills


• A willingness to learn and develop


• Ability to work effectively as part of a commercial team


• Good IT and Microsoft Office skills


• An understanding of construction processes and commercial principles


• A proactive and commercially minded approach


• Full UK driving licence would be advantageous
