Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-orientedGraduate Quantity/Building Surveyorto join our team, providing cost management and commercial support to care home construction projects across the North West UK. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain practical experience in a vital and meaningful sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents
• Support the evaluation and negotiation of subcontractor and supplier quotes
• Assist with the purchasing of site materials to ensure value for money
• Monitor project expenditure and assist with cost reporting and forecasting
• Contribute to the preparation of valuations, variations, and final accounts
• Work closely with project managers, contractors, and design teams to ensure projects remain on budget and schedule
• Help ensure that all works comply with relevant regulations, contracts, and standards specific to care environments

Requirements:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a construction-related discipline
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Basic knowledge of construction contracts (e.g. JCT, NEC)
• Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and procurement practices
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other project management tools
• Full UK driving licence required
• Working towards RICS or other professional accreditation
• Previous experience in healthcare, residential, or care home construction projects
