Job summary

Select is seeking a Graduate QA Engineer in London to join a technology-driven insurance-focused team. You’ll gain exposure to QA practices, testing frameworks and the software development lifecycle while supporting both web and mobile applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technology-related field or business
• Foundational knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java, C#)
• Understanding of basic software testing principles and SDLC

Responsibilities

• Carry out manual and automated testing of web and mobile applications.
• Identify, document and track defects with clear reproduction steps.

• Participate in team meetings, code reviews and Agile sprint planning.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Graduate QA Engineer to join an innovative technology-focused business operating within the insurance sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate who enjoys problem-solving, technology and understanding how businesses operate, and is looking to build a career in Quality Assurance, Software Engineering or Product.

Working as part of a collaborative technology team, you will work closely with developers, data engineers, data scientists and operational colleagues to help ensure that software applications are reliable, effective and deliver an excellent user experience.

You don’t need to be an experienced QA professional – this is a genuine graduate opportunity where you will receive support and develop your technical skills while gaining valuable exposure to both technology and the insurance industry.

Key Responsibilities

About You

We’re looking for a graduate who is curious, analytical and enjoys solving problems. You may have studied a technology-related subject, or you may come from a business/operations background with a strong interest in technology.

You should have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Some foundational knowledge of at least one programming language, such as Python, JavaScript, Java or C#.
• An understanding of basic software testing principles and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• A genuine interest in technology and how it can be used to improve business processes.

Desirable Skills

The following would be advantageous, but are not essential:

• Basic knowledge of databases and SQL.
• Familiarity with Git or other version control tools.
• Exposure to testing frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress or PyTest.
• Previous project work, university assignments or personal projects involving software development or testing.
