A leading education agency is seeking a Teaching Assistant for an Autism Support Provisions Unit in Barnet. Autism Support Teaching Assistant based in a Secondary School Provisions Unit
Start date:
Location: High Barnet (close to Cockfosters Underground Station and High Barnet Underground Station). Parking available at school site.
Pay: £90 (increasing to £100 per day)
Hours: 8:15 am to 3:30 pm and 8:15 am to 2:15 pm on Fridays
We are currently working with an Autism Support Provisions Unit for a secondary school in Barnet. The unit is attached to the main school, which supports approximately 200 students.
About the school provision:
The Special Resource Provision is an additional resource within the mainstream school, offering up to 49 places (seven per year group) for pupils with autistic spectrum conditions (ASC).

Curriculum:
Students who can access the main school will follow the National Curriculum, with the goal of taking up to 5 GCSEs at the end of Year 11. Passing at Grade 4 (or equivalent) allows access to sixth form courses within the main school.
The curriculum is highly differentiated, focusing on developing social cognition through the SCERTS framework and Social Thinking curriculum. Most students will also follow ASDAN/CoPE courses, Personal and Social Development, and Employability and Work-Related Learning curricula.
