Role Purpose

As a Junior Project Planner, support the Project Planner on live multi-disciplinary projects by developing realistic project plans, setting quantifiable targets, and supporting on-site progress measurement to provide fact-based insights to management.

Key Functions of the Graduate Project Planner

  • Perform take-offs aligned with the construction WBS for labor and metrics loading.
  • Develop and update metrics trackers with quantities for tracking.
  • Provide on-site planning support to the project management team.
  • Measure on-site progress of multi-disciplinary installations.
  • Compile progress reports and dashboards; attend progress meetings as needed.

Graduate Project Planner Responsibilities

In collaboration with your project team, execute various project stages:

Business Unit Planning & Technical Support

  • Monthly KPI reporting and manpower forecasting.
  • Planning process audits, modifications, and updates.
  • Develop project reference data databases.
  • Coordinate with EHS and Quality departments for reporting alignment.
  • Support claim development.

Programme Coordination (Planning Phase)

  • Assist in schedule development.
  • Support in labor and metrics loading through take-offs from drawings.
  • Update trackers and produce build methodology drawings.

Status and Performance (Controlling Phase)

  • Assist in gathering and collating installation progress data for EV and performance analysis.
  • Help compile and issue progress reports and dashboards.
  • Support schedule management and revisions.

General

  • Seek opportunities to improve service to internal customers.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • 3rd level qualification in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management; trades background with planning aptitude considered.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project/P6 or similar software, and Microsoft Office tools, with excellent report writing skills.
  • Strong time management skills to meet demanding schedules and reporting deadlines.
