Job Title: Graduate Project Manager

Reporting to: Business General Manager

Omexom is a brand through which VINCI Energies undertakes its Transmission & Distribution activities. Omexom specialises in the design, supply, installation, maintenance, and commissioning of electrical infrastructures for electricity utility companies and renewable energy developers throughout the UK and Ireland.

The overall purpose of the role is to assist in the design, procurement, installation, construction, and commissioning of distribution overhead line networks and substations. After gaining experience and completing a structured training programme, the successful candidate will advance to a Project Management role.

The post holder will work closely with project managers, designers, commercial staff, and operational staff to gain an understanding of the Transmission and Substation industry and related construction projects.

Over a two-year training programme, you will gain experience in project management, technical expertise, people management, financial management, procurement, health, safety, environmental and quality management, business development, and commercial and contract awareness.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the safe, efficient delivery of work to the highest possible construction standards.
  • Assist with the delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to high safety and quality standards.
  • Contribute to the commercial success of projects ensuring profitable delivery of work.
  • Assist with managing operational staff to ensure optimal project delivery.
  • Assist with tendering and bid management procedures.
  • Ensure effective communication with customers.
  • Assist with managing budgets and controlling costs, including timely delivery of financial data for reports.
  • Assist in preparing project progress reports for periodic review with customers.
  • Assist with HR-related issues, including disciplinary procedures at the site level, as required.

Required Education, Skills, and Qualifications

Essential

  • 3rd level education in a relevant technical or engineering discipline.
  • Good understanding and practical experience of MS Excel and/or MS Project.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Understanding of financial management.
  • Ability to plan works logically and efficiently.
  • Ability to manage and motivate operational employees and subcontractors.
  • Customer-focused decision-making.
  • Ability to meet targets under pressure and work to tight deadlines.
  • Full driving license and access to transport.
  • Keen to develop within project management, taking on additional responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

This role involves flexible working with frequent travel across the UK to site and meetings.
