Job summary

KLA is hiring a Graduate Process Engineer for our Newport site. You will join a process or applications team (CVD, PVD, or Etch) and support with training across our development sectors. You will travel to support customers in Europe, Asia, and the USA as you rotate through our graduate development program.

Initial onboarding covers technical classroom training, soft-skills development, teamwork, and corporate responsibility activities, with on-the-job training provided throughout the program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Chemistry or Materials Science with 2:1 or higher.
  • Masters or studies in semiconductor field are desirable but not required.
  • Experience with MS Office and MATLAB is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and demonstrate processes to meet specifications.
  • Contribute to project teams for new product development for global customers.
  • Assess results with analytical lab tools and software, including Excel.
  • Troubleshoot faults on process solutions both in-house and in the field.
  • Prepare written reports or presentations summarising results.

It is not required for you to already have the skills and knowledge to perform the role, full on the job training will be provided through our graduate development schemeYour day-to-day responsibilities will include:Developing and demonstrating our processes to meet the agreed specificationsContributing constructively to the work of our project teams in developing new products that meet the requirements of our global customer for their next generation designs.Assessing results using our fully equipped analytical laboratory and software tools including Excel etcProblem solving, trouble shooting and investigating faults on process solutions both in-house and in the fieldProviding regular updates to the product marketing and process teams on progress of sample and demonstration work, where required summarising results in a written report or presentation.Establishing both effective customer and team relationships particularly for clear communication of results and ideasPlanning your work and delivering plans in a safe, sensible and timely mannerResearch into published work relevant to our process developmentWriting technical reports for patent applications and writing technical papers for publication at conferences, seminars etc.This position will give an opportunity for some international travel and working some shift patterns to fully utilise our innovative development cleanroom.KLA is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
