A leading engineering consultancy in Manchester is looking for a Graduate Power Systems Engineer to join their dynamic Power Systems team. A BEng/MEng in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering is desired, along with a genuine interest in sustainable energy systems. The Role You\'ll Play

As a Graduate Power Systems Engineer, you’ll work alongside experienced power systems engineers, providing consultancy on power generation, transmission, and distribution projects. You will be involved in designing and optimising electrical systems across a wide range of sectors.

You will support project work involving steady-state and dynamic load flow analysis, fault level calculations, protection studies, earthing design, and grid connection studies. Working in close collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, you will play a key role in shaping sustainable energy solutions, ensuring that projects meet technical requirements and regulatory standards.

Your responsibilities will grow as your technical skills develop, with the opportunity to take on more autonomy and leadership within projects. Through accredited professional development programmes, you’ll be supported on your path to achieving Chartered status.

The Skills You\'ll Bring
  • On target to achieve at least a 2:2 degree
  • Desirable if accredited with or on course to achieve a BEng/MEng degree level (or equivalent) in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering
  • Have a keen interest in power systems design and analysis, and crucially - have a passion for creative and intuitive design
  • Possessing a desire for personal and professional development, you’ll have the proven ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Digital engineering is a big focus at Cundall, so ideally, you’ll have an understanding of Power System Analysis Software (e.g. ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory), or at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python)
  • You are organised and methodical in your approach to managing your tasks and priorities, striving to meet deadlines
  • Collaborative in nature, you’ll be able to empathise with your clients’ needs and utilise excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbally, with internal and external stakeholders. You’re used to using your initiative to overcome challenges and have a positive, can-do attitude
