Graduate or Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer – Building Services

A respected and growing building services consultancy is seeking a Graduate or Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in Exeter. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a wide range of high-profile construction projects across sectors such as education, healthcare, residential and commercial.
This position is ideal for either a recent graduate with a relevant engineering degree (minimum 2:1 in BEng or MEng), or someone with 1–3 years' experience in a building services consultancy environment, ready to step into an intermediate-level role. You’ll work as part of a collaborative and technically strong team, receiving mentoring and support towards achieving Chartership via an in-house training scheme.
Key responsibilities:
  • Producing detailed electrical design calculations and drawings
  • Developing technical solutions to engineering challenges
  • Supporting senior engineers with day-to-day project delivery
  • Attending site surveys and liaising with contractors and clients
  • Creating technical documentation and 3D Revit models
  • Learning and applying relevant design software and BIM tools
  • Progressing towards professional qualification
You should have:
  • A degree in electrical, building services, or related engineering discipline
  • For intermediate applicants: 1–3 years’ experience in a consultancy or similar design environment
  • A good understanding of relevant design software (e.g., Amtech, Dialux, Revit, AutoCAD)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive attitude, with a desire to develop your career
  • Full UK driving licence
