Job description
This is an excellent opportunity for a Graduate or Assistant Geotechnical / Geo-Environmental Engineer to join a leading consultancy in Hertfordshire.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, analytical, and report writing skills, with a good understanding of UK legislation.
The role includes:
- Phase I Geo-Environmental & Geotechnical Assessments:
- Undertaking desk-based research including site reconnaissance surveys
- Preparing reports under the supervision of senior team members
- Phase II Geo-Environmental & Geotechnical Assessments:
- Supporting site investigations initially, progressing to independent investigations
- On-site monitoring of gas, groundwater, and surface water
- Data input, management, and interpretation
- Factual and interpretative report writing
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, practically minded, organized, confident, and self-motivated, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues and clients is essential.
Required Experience:
- A degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Geoscience, Applied Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or related disciplines.
- A post-graduate qualification is advantageous but not essential.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is beneficial.
- Full clean UK driving licence.
