Job description

We are seeking enthusiastic Graduate SEND Support Staff to work in a variety of school settings, supporting children with diverse learning needs. This role is ideal for graduates considering a career in teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, or child development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of personalised learning programmes.

  • Use creative, hands-on approaches to engage and motivate learners.

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students, teachers, and parents.

  • Support children in developing social, emotional, and communication skills.

  • Work closely with teaching staff to implement Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).

  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to colleagues and parents.

About You:

  • Recent graduate with a passion for education and supporting diverse learners.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Empathetic, patient, and adaptable in challenging situations.

  • Willingness to learn and grow in the field of education.

  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

  • Previous experience working with children (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
