We're looking for a Graduate Nuclear Consultant to join our award-winning Nuclear team in our Manchester or Warrington office, as part of our 2026 Graduate Programme, delivering sustainable projects for communities, the planet, and society.

Our Nuclear Division has provided strategic and advisory support to the nuclear industry since 2005, working with operators and regulators across new build, existing, decommissioning, and defence markets. We specialize in safety cases, environmental management, nuclear safety governance, radioactive waste management, and decommissioning strategy, serving clients like Small Modular Reactors, nuclear power station developers, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, Nuclear Waste Services, and other nuclear-related organizations.

Our Nuclear team, now part of Stantec, joined Hydrock in 2023, based at Birchwood Park, Warrington. We deliver nuclear safety assessments, hazard identification studies, safety case documents, and strategies, working with clients such as Urenco, Babcock Marine, Canadian Nuclear Laboratory, Sellafield Ltd, Nuclear Restoration Services, and ANSTO in Australia.

As a Stantec graduate, you will develop your expertise within an interdisciplinary environment, supported by colleagues and senior staff in an open, collaborative culture.

Your role:

  • Providing technical support across disciplines such as safety assurance, waste management, and environmental assessment for nuclear clients;
  • Leading specific technical tasks, including data assessment, documentation review, report writing, and workshop participation;
  • Supporting client engagement, business development, and bid submissions.

About you:

  • Degree or master's in a relevant subject, with an active interest in energy supply/infrastructure and the nuclear landscape;
  • A perseverer, adaptable, focused, collaborative, and eager to learn, with the ability to handle setbacks, switch tasks, concentrate on priorities, work with diverse teams, and learn from experiences.

Please note: Graduates are expected to work in the office at least 4 days per week for support.
