Application Deadline: Recruitment is ongoing. Please apply as soon as possible as the advert may close once we have sufficient applicants.

We're looking for a Graduate Nuclear Consultant to join our progressive, award-winning Nuclear team in our Manchester or Warrington office, joining our 2026 Graduate Programme, where you'll be delivering sustainable projects for our communities, planet and society.

Our Nuclear Division has been providing high-end strategic and advisory consultancy support to the nuclear industry since 2005, working with operators and regulators across the new build, existing, decommissioning and defence markets. The Division specialises in safety cases, environmental management, nuclear safety governance, radioactive waste management and decommissioning strategy, and development/demonstration of nuclear organisational capability. Our clients include Small Modular Reactor and gigawatt-scale nuclear power station developers, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, Nuclear Waste Services, and a range of nuclear-related manufacturing, research, and defence organizations. We provide services to help organizations demonstrate compliance with legal and regulatory requirements of the nuclear industry.

Our Nuclear Hydrock now Stantec 3T Team

3T Safety Consultants Ltd joined the Hydrock now Stantec family in 2023, becoming Hydrock now Stantec 3T. Located in the heart of the northwest's nuclear sector at Birchwood Park, Warrington, the team has a strong track record of delivering nuclear safety assessment expertise, including hazard identification studies (e.g., HAZOPs), radiological Hazard Analyses (HAZANs), safety case documents, and safety case strategies for clients such as Urenco, Babcock Marine at Devonport, Canadian Nuclear Laboratory, Sellafield Ltd, Nuclear Restoration Services, and ANSTO in Australia.

As a Stantec graduate, you will collaborate with your team and wider cohort, developing your expertise within an interdisciplinary environment, supported by office and technical colleagues, as well as senior staff within our open and collaborative culture.

Your role:

  • Provide technical support to senior team members in project delivery across disciplines such as safety assurance, radioactive waste management, environmental assessment, and secretariat support for nuclear clients;
  • Take a lead role in delivering specific technical tasks, including data assessment, documentation review, technical report writing, and workshop documentation;
  • Support senior team members in client engagement, business development, and bid submissions for new work.

  • You are:
  • A Perseverer - remaining composed in setbacks and approaching challenges confidently;
  • An Adapter - adapting well to new and changing situations;
  • A Focused Individual - concentrating on what matters and performing effectively;
  • A Collaborator - working well with diverse teams and considering others' perspectives;
  • An Eager Learner - learning from experiences and anticipating future situations.

Please note, graduates are expected to work in the office at least 4 days a week to ensure adequate support from colleagues.

What we offer:

  • A competitive salary
  • Private medical insurance
  • A range of benefits including holiday buy/sell, income protection, and life assurance
  • Permanent contract demonstrating our commitment to your long-term career
  • Professional progression support towards professional status
