Job summary

Marine Resources in Gosport is seeking a Graduate Naval Architect to start a career in naval architecture within a specialist marine engineering team. You will work closely with experienced engineers on concept design, validation, testing, and production support.

This hands-on role combines engineering analysis with practical fabrication and sea trials, offering exposure to stability, hull forms, FEA, and data interpretation while developing into a well-rounded marine professional.

Qualifications

• Degree in Naval Architecture or related field.
• Strong interest in small craft and composite boatbuilding.
• Experience with CAD and FEA software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support design and development of RIBs and composite craft.
• Produce calculations for performance, stability, strength, and weight.
• Assist with FEA of components.
• Conduct simulations and tests to validate designs.
• Support model testing, prototypes, and sea trials.
• Analyze test data to inform design decisions.
• Assist hull form development and systems integration.
• Create technical docs and design reviews.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure buildability and cost-effectiveness.
• Support repair, refit and vessel modification projects.
• Visit workshops and sites as required.
• Assist with compliance to industry standards and certification.
