Job summary

G-Research is seeking exceptional graduate machine learning engineers to work with our quantitative researchers on cutting-edge problems at our London headquarters. You will contribute to scalable systems and libraries that accelerate discovery across the firm.

You'll join the Technical Machine Learning team, tackle challenging research questions, implement ideas from papers, and optimize training on massive datasets using both off-the-shelf tools and bespoke solutions.

Qualifications

• Current undergraduate, master's or PhD student in machine learning or a related discipline.
• Strong Python, PyTorch and NumPy programming skills.
• Experience with one or more advanced optimisation methods, HPC, profiling or model inference.
• Excellent ML reasoning with ability to develop own models when needed.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Implementing ideas from published research papers.
• Writing custom libraries to efficiently train models on petabytes of data.
• Reducing model training times by hand optimising machine learning operations.
• Profiling custom ML architectures to identify performance bottlenecks.
• Evaluating the latest hardware and software in the machine learning ecosystem.
