Graduate Mental Health Teaching Assistant

A unique specialist school in Devizes are looking for a graduate to join their growing team as a Mental Health Teaching Assistant, The school supports pupils with diagnosed social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, as well as complex trauma, anxiety and associated behaviour challenges.

As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting every pupil not only with their education, but also their emotionally growth. You will help promote positive mental health and self‑esteem through relationship building, ensuring every student has the best chance in life, reaches their full potential, and works towards a positive future.

By getting to know each pupil, you will help identify potential triggers for challenging behaviours. You will encourage self‑regulation by helping the students identify and label their emotions, while also demonstrating the value and importance of education to enhance their opportunities after they leave school.

This specialist mental health setting is looking for a graduate who is empathetic, patient and understands the challenges that come with mental health difficulties. If you are confident, caring and resilient, you will be a great fit for the school. Previous experience working with children or vulnerable adults would be beneficial, but not essential.
