Job summary

National Gas Transmission plc invites applications for an 18-month graduate programme in Mechanical Engineering across the Scotland & North region. You’ll gain hands-on experience in live operations, supporting investigations, data analysis, and projects that strengthen the reliability of Britain’s gas network.

You’ll work with experienced engineers across sites, offices and remote planning, building core technical skills while developing professional competencies for a long-term engineering

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline with strong mechanical content.
• Proven ability to solve engineering problems and work in teams.
• Good communication and data interpretation skills.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering investigations and technical assessments.
• Help solve engineering challenges and identify practical solutions.
• Contribute to projects that improve reliability and performance of infrastructure.
• Work with operational teams, engineers and contractors across the region.
• Visit sites to understand how engineering principles are applied in practice.
• Review data to support engineering decisions and asset maintenance.
