Qualifications

What's the Job About?

As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in helping steer engineering projects from start to finish. From planning and design to getting things built on-site, you’ll make sure everything runs smoothly, stays on budget, and hits all the right safety and quality notes. You’ll be responsible for project planning, engineering design, procurement, and on-site construction support for fuel pipeline infrastructure.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Project Planning & Management: Oversee projects from approval to handover. Develop and maintain detailed project plans and schedules. Monitor budgets and staff-hours to ensure targets are met. Ensure delivery meets company standards and client expectations.
  • Design: Develop engineering solutions and technical drawings to required standards. Lead design reviews and manage associated risks. Ensure compliance with company, client, national, and international standards.
  • Procurement: Prepare and evaluate contract documentation. Recommend suppliers and approve payments. Track project spend and manage cost efficiency.
  • Construction & Commissioning: Manage on-site construction activities and contracts. Promote and ensure high standards of health and safety. Support commissioning planning and execution.

What You’ll Need:

  • Recent Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
  • Experience in mechanical design and strong site awareness, including safety and contractor management
  • Team player with good problem-solving, critical thinking, numeracy, and communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Full UK driving licence required

Salary

Basic salary of £33,000 – £37,000 + benefits
