Job summary

Chiltern Park Recruitment is seeking a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer for a global engineering firm in Milton Keynes. You will design, develop and test new products, manage projects and work with sales for customised solutions.

The role involves concept design, prototype testing and documentation, plus travel to European customers. A 2.1 Mechanical Engineering degree and strong English skills are required. Competitive salary and progression opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2.1 degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience managing projects in a design/manufacturing environment.
• CAD experience with SolidWorks and hands-on work.
• Knowledge of FEA, thermodynamics or fluid dynamics.
• Experience writing technical reports.
• Ability to travel to European customers.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Proficient with MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review requests for customised automation, chiller and air products from sales to ensure specifications are clear and viable.
• Work with designers to create concept designs of customised existing products.
• Create detailed parts drawings for prototype testing.
• Carry out testing of pneumatic products.
• Ensure timely completion of own projects.
• Participate in larger projects with supervision from a senior Engineer.
• Provide technical product support to European subsidiaries.
• Visit customers to determine technical requirements for special products.
• Support technical market research activities and directives.
