Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer

Manchester

An established building services consultancy is seeking a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing Manchester office. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious graduate to begin their engineering career with a firm dedicated to sustainable design, technical excellence, and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the design and specification of mechanical building systems in line with UK regulations and standards
  • Supporting energy-efficient and low-carbon mechanical solutions from concept through to detailed design
  • Creating technical drawings, models, and schematics using CAD and BIM software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit)
  • Conducting thermal and energy calculations using design software (e.g. Hevacomp, IES, or similar)
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, electrical engineers, and sustainability consultants

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related subject
  • A genuine interest in mechanical building systems and sustainable design
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Some exposure to CAD, Revit, or engineering simulation software is desirable (training provided)
