UK Atomic Energy Authority is offering a Graduate Development Programme for early-career engineers. The role focuses on welding, joining and manufacturing solutions for fusion projects, with time split between professional development and hands-on project work.

You will work alongside world-leading experts, developing technical, project management and leadership skills while contributing to groundbreaking fusion technology for a sustainable future.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science or Engineering from 2025 to 2027.
• Driven with a strong appetite to learn and take on new challenges.
• Able to collaborate effectively and communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Well organised and adaptable with the ability to plan and prioritise workload.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and delivery of welding, joining and manufacturing solutions for fusion projects.
• Contribute to project execution and continuous improvement activities, including preparing technical documentation, specifications and reports, coordinating procurement and manufacturing activities, monitoring quality standards, and helping to resolve non-conformances.
• Build expertise in welding and joining technologies, gaining experience in qualification and inspection processes, participating in design reviews, external visits and outreach activities, and working in line with UKAEA quality, health, safety and inclusion principles.
